Maggie Christiansen
Biography
Maggie Christiansen is a Litigation Associate Attorney in Rutherford & Christie’s New York office. Prior to joining Rutherford & Christie, she practiced criminal law at the Clark County District Attorney’s Office in Las Vegas, N.V. as a law clerk and later as a Deputy District Attorney. She represented the State in various criminal proceedings, conducted evidentiary hearings at the Appellate level, and managed a diverse criminal caseload across multiple courtrooms ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. While at the D.A.’s office, Maggie began to develop her craft as a litigator through her extensive courtroom experience while simultaneously honing her writing capabilities by drafting numerous legal briefs for the Nevada Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Following her time at the District Attorney’s Office, Maggie moved into strategic and crisis communications for corporations such as MSNBC and Leading Nation in Hong Kong, S.A.R.
Maggie earned her B.A. from the College of Charleston. She graduated cum laude with a major in World Languages and Cultural Affairs from the College of Charleston, with a double minor in Political Science and Spanish. She later earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where she was a member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Honor Society.
Maggie is admitted to practice law in Nevada and is pending admission to the New York State Bar.
