In January 2015, Rutherford & Christie received national re-certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Georgia Women’s Business Council, a regional certifying partner of the national Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Georgia Women’s Business Council is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

“It is an honor to be certified as a woman-owned business, especially as one of only a few law firms in the nation,” Partner Carrie L. Christie said. “We believe our firm’s diversity gives us a better perspective on managing the ever-evolving needs of our clients.”

WBENC is a resource for the more than 700 US companies and government agencies that rely on the certification as an integral part of their supplier diversity programs. By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrated their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.
